Switchgear
Electrical switchgear comprises switching and protection components housed within metal enclosures to control, isolate and safeguard power distribution systems. Commonly deployed in industrial facilities and power stations, switchgear enables safe isolation of equipment for maintenance and responds to electrical failures. Fitted with switches, fuses and circuit breakers, it identifies electrical abnormalities and automatically disconnects circuits to minimize damage to the whole system when faults occur.
High Voltage Switchgear
High-voltage switchgear covers a series of electrical equipment applied in power generation, transmission, distribution, energy conversion and power consumption links of power systems. Rated for voltage classes from 3.6kV to 550kV, these devices serve for circuit switching, system control and fault protection. Low Voltage Switchgear
Low voltage electrical switchgear refers to a centralized collection of circuit breakers, fuses and switches (circuit protection devices) that function to protect, control and isolate electrical equipment. These circuit protection devices are mounted in metal enclosures. A collection of one or more of these structures is called a switchgear line-up or assembly. Low voltage switchgear is widely adopted in power distribution networks as well as medium to large commercial and industrial facilities. Relevant technical standards for electrical switchgear include IEC standards applied in Europe and global markets, and IEEE standards for North American projects.
